The Wellbeing Training Company

Paul Firth is the owner of The WellBeing Training Company. He was inspired to set up the company after working in a number of highly stressful work environments including for a multinational company, the National Health Service and for a leading UK University. Paul observed the negative impact that a low individual wellbeing can have on an employee's performance and health. For the last 30 years Paul has held positions that enabled him to promote health and wellbeing in a range of environments to a variety of population groups.

After leaving university Paul worked has an exercise physiologist for Shell UK in their London offices and for Scottish Power near Gatwick Airport. His role in both companies was to advise on and implement physical activity interventions to maintain and restore employee health.
Paul moved on to a position for a private rehabilitation company contracted to provide cardiac rehabilitation to the NHS. This role gave Paul a thorough understanding of the pressures placed on NHS staff.
After 10 successful years, Paul moved on to lecturing at Keele University in Staffordshire. Paul wrote modules on health and wellbeing at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, led on a number of University wellbeing initiatives and found time to pursue a PhD on employee wellbeing.
More recently Paul has worked for four years in the NHS as a Wellbeing Lead and Project Manager, implementing a number of high impact projects designed to enhance the wellbeing of hard working NHS staff.
Paul's latest role, before starting the Workforce Wellbeing Training Company, was still in the NHS and returning to his educational background as the Clinical Education Programme Lead across Staffordshire and Stoke On Trent.
Originally from a small mining town in South Yorkshire, much to his parents’ distress, he moved south to attend university. Having been in a long-term relationship for over 20 years, and with three young children, he consequently enjoys water slides, face painting and bouncy castles.
